Cheesy Dinner Roll Recipe

Quick and easy, 90-minute cheesy garlic dinner rolls are soft and fluffy, buttery and garlicky, and full of cheese inside. They are like traditional dinner rolls except so much better. They are the perfect compliment to your dinner table or holiday dinner menu. Enjoy it warm, fresh out of the oven, there is really nothing like it.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 cup Milk Kefir
  • 113 g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 3/4 cup Cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • For the Top:
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • Fresh rosemary and oregano

How To Make Cheesy Dinner Rolls

1- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar and let it rest until fluffy for 5-7 min.

2- In a large bowl of a stand mixer (or a regular large bowl), put flour, @lifewaykefir kefir, sugar, salt, eggs, and yeast.

3- Mix until combined for about 3-4 minutes. Cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 10-12 minutes.

4- After that, knead the dough by stand mixer or hand. Add room temperature butter to the dough and continue to knead for 12-15 minutes.

5- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and keep it in the refrigerator overnight. If you don’t have the time, you can keep it for around 3 hours.

6- The next day, put the dough on a floured counter and divide it into 50-60g equal-weight pieces.

7- Place the dough pieces on a parchment-lined baking tray. Prepare the filling; in a medium bowl, add farmer cheese and mozzarella and combine well. Preheat the oven to 400F.

8- Take a piece of dough and roll it up using a rolling pin or by hand as in the IG reel. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center and close it up. Repeat this process with all the remaining pieces.

9- Place the dinner rolls on a parchment-lined baking tray or iron cast. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rest at room temperature for 35-45min.

10- Brush the rolls with egg wash and bake them for about 13-15 min.

11- Remove the rolls from the oven onto a cooling rack.

12- Brush with butter and garlic sauce. Serve warm.
