Better Than Pancakes! Spoon Pourings “Kaşık Dökmesi” Recipe

If you say “Let me make a quick and different recipe for breakfast, it will be satisfying”, here is the recipe for you! Let’s make delicious spoon pours, which are often made quickly at breakfasts in Turkey, and take its name from the fact that it is poured into the pan with a spoon.


  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 100 ml oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup: 200 ml

How To Make “Kaşık Dökmesi”

1- Whisk together 2 eggs, 1 cup yogurt, 100 ml oil and 1 tsp salt, using a wire whisk until you have a smooth batter.

2- Add 1 ½ cup of all-purpose flour and 2 tsp baking powder and keep whisking.

3- If you want, you can add other ingredients like veggies, meat, cheese or herbs for a little extra flavor.

4- Drop a little oil onto a non-stick frying pan, brush it everywhere and let it heat up.

5- Once the oil is heated, pour about 1 tbsp of batter onto the hot pan. Spread it using the back of the spoon.

6- Cook over medium-low heat until the bottom is nicely golden brown, then flip it over and cook until both sides are golden.

7- Repeat until you’ve used up all the batter and serve right away.
